What More Can I Do?

If you’re tired of hearing about racism, imagine how tired people are of experiencing it.

#blackouttuesday has come to an end and I’ve had a ton of DM’s asking “What can I do now?”. If you haven’t already, first be sure to check out the previous post Be The Change. You’ll find everything from how to donate, direct links to petitions and even action items.

You’ve donated, signed the petitions, posted on Instagram but now what? It doesn’t stop there.

Now it’s time to start a long term strategy!
Ask yourself how are you going to make impact a lifestyle?

  1. Stop supporting organizations that promote racism and hate.

  2. DONATE. DONATE. DONATE to support the initiatives of BLM | Put your money where your mouth is.

  3. Avoid sharing traumatic content that could be triggering to other black people during this time.

  4. Read up on antiracists works. GOOGLE DOES EXIST. Don’t rely on your friends to teach you and deal with the trauma at the same time.

  5. Be prepared to do the work. Guilt, shame and anger are all apart of the process.

  6. Check on your black friends and family members
